The International Relations Unit is a coordinating office for strengthening and supporting the  international links of faculties and teaching centres. The International Relations Unit therefore works together with the International Academic Coordinators in each of our centres to streamline and develop relations with educational institutions abroad.

The unit highlights international activities, communicates opportunities available for students, and aims at motivating students and staff to take part in international programmes.

The International Relations Unit also develops active programmes involving student and staff exchanges that may yield fruitful research collaborations in the future. We have several memorandums of understanding with universities around the world to promote joint academic activities. The International Relations Unit is keen to help teachers and students from abroad visiting UVic, offering itself as a space for dialogue and exchange of intercultural information.

This unit aims to

• Promote international education and collaborative activities in specific subject areas.
• Promote the development of student exchange programmes.
• Support the student, teaching and administrative staff mobility.
• Support and encourage all activities in the current UVic international network and stimulate new initiatives.
